Weekend Recap

I'm not sure where to start. It's been a busy few days. I played hoop at the gym on Thursday at lunch. I almost got in a fist fight because this asshole kept hammering me. He finally tossed me into a wall and that was it, I snapped. We had words and had to be separated. Bottom line, this guys a fucking prick, but I had a good workout.

On Thursday night I played tennis, didn't play great but had another good workout. I really need to get my serve going, it has been very inconsistent as of late.

On Friday, I was tired and hungover from a late night of tennis. I managed to make it to the gym and played hoop to sweat out my booze.

I did not run one of my scheduled runs during the week, way to busy at work. Totally unacceptable, but just couldn't find the time. On Saturday I ran 3 miles and everything felt great. It was quick and easy.

Yesterday I ran 9 miles. I ran through Saugus and Wakefield. This 9 miles was brutal, a lot tougher than any run at Mines Falls. It was all pavement with a lot of hills. I felt worse yesterday than I did when I ran the half marathon. My wind was fine, but my legs were killing me. Surprisingly my ankle felt pretty good, but the rest of me was dying. I think running on Saturday didn't help my legs on Sunday. When I ran the half marathon I had several days off before that and my legs were fresh. I'll need to remember that.

My legs felt like rubber today, I left the house this morning determined not to play hoop to give my my body a rest. I went to the gym to lift a little, and sure enough the hoop gang was down a player and they found me. I played for an hour, but honestly I didn't play hard, I couldn't.

This week I'm scheduled to run two 3 milers, a 5 and a 6 on the weekend. I am also involved in a singles tennis tournament so I have to plan my running in order to allow myself to have fresh legs for that. I'm not much of a singles player and will most likely get my ass kicked anyway, but I'd like to be able to compete on fresh legs. I'll keep you posted...ross
